Drafty windows can cause costly energy bills, put a stop to them with Flex Shot. Here’s how:
1. First, make sure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dirt, grease, and oil.
2. In a well-ventilated area, hold the can at a 45-degree angle, push on the nozzle, and apply directly to the area.
3. If there is excess product, remove it with a dry paper towel.
4. A tacky film will begin to form in about 20 minutes and will eventually become dry to the touch over time.
5. In 24 to 48 hours (depending on temperature and humidity) Flex Shot will be fully cured.
Flexpert Tip: For a perfect bead, apply in a steady, even motion. Adjust your speed to control the thickness of the bead. You can smooth Flex Shot out with your finger and work with the product as desired. If needed, make any adjustments immediately after the product is applied, before it starts to dry.
Don’t let leaks and debris brings down your gutters. Clear and repair them easily with Flex Seal by following these directions:
1. First, before you do anything, make sure your gutter is clean. To be safe, have a friend keep your ladder in place while you are on it.
2. Next, remove any twigs and/or leaves that have built up over time. Then, you can flush the gutter using a water hose. Once your gutter is clean, use a drop cloth to wipe it dry.
3. After the surface is completely dry, run wide painter’s tape along the complete edge of the gutter. This will prevent Flex Seal from spraying on unwanted areas.
4. Once you’re ready, grab your can of Flex Seal, shake it vigorously for about a minute. And then, in a sweeping motion, spray a nice even coat on the surface from a distance of 8 to 12 inches.
Allow to dry, up to 24 hours, before applying another coat. In some conditions, it may take 48 hours to fully cure.
It’s always important to apply correctly for the best possible results. Learn how below:
1. First, make sure the area being sealed is clean and free of any grease, oil, dirt, debris or algae. Only use on smooth, clean non-porous surfaces and applied at room temperature.
2. Keep the liner on and cut Flex Tape using a razor blade, not scissors, and create a patch larger than the area being repaired. If possible, we recommend rounding out the corners of the patch to help prevent them from lifting.
3. Remove the liner and apply the Flex Tape firmly over the area being sealed. Once applied Flex Tape cannot be repositioned.
4. Pressing firmly with your fingers or a squeegee, start firmly at the center and work your way towards the edges smoothing out any pockets of air. It is important to make sure all water, air pockets, creases and folds have been completely removed. As these are areas where water can seep through to create a leak.
5. Continue pressing firmly for 1 minute or longer to allow Flex Tape’s adhesive to completely bond to the surface.
Note: Flex Tape may not adhere to certain surfaces such as siliconized or water-repellent materials. And it may cause damage to the surface if removed. It is not intended for high pressure applications, such as garden hoses or engine repairs.
