Our customers use Flex Shot for a wide variety of uses. Here are some project ideas to get you started…

RV and Home Skylights

Skylights are very prone to leaking. With RV’s, the likelihood is even greater, since they are subjected to regular movement. Luckily it can be an easy fix. Inspect the skylight from your roof to see exactly where the leak is coming from. Scrape away any old sealant and make sure your surface is clean. It might take some elbow grease. Rub away any residue with mineral spirits and a rag. Once dry, cut the extension tube of your Flex Shot with scissors. This will help you control the size of your bead. From a 45-degree angle, press the nozzle completely around the seam where the roof meets the metal or plastic flanges of the skylight. Don’t leave any gaps in this area – or your skylight will be susceptible to more leaks.

Car Windshield

Remove any damaged weather rubber strips from your windshield, if possible. For some, that might require unscrewing them. Completely clean and dry your entire windshield, making sure the area is free of dirt, oil, and debris. Press the nozzle and caulk the outline of the windshield. If you get Flex Shot Clear in any unwanted areas, just wipe it away with a paper towel. Let the caulk dry for 48 to 72 hours before reapplying the weather strips back to the windshield. For extra bonding power, consider also using Flex Glue® on your weather stripping.

Home Windows

Flex Tip: Before caulking your home windows, remove any old caulk. You can scrape it off with a razor, or you can buy a caulk removal tool from your nearby home improvement store. Make sure that the surface is dry and clean of dirt, grease, or oil.

Flex Shot can be used to caulk your home windows from the inside and outside. Cut the extension tube with sharp, high-quality scissors. Now that you have a clean surface, from a 45-degree angle, press the nozzle into the joint or seam where the window and wall meet. If it is divided into four pieces, apply Flex Shot to each of the four pieces. Make sure you don’t miss any areas.

After caulking your window, run your index finger along the caulk to make sure it fills every crack along the window. Grab a paper towel to wipe away any extra caulk as quickly as possible (within 20 minutes from applying). Use this for both inside and outside of the windows.

You can use Flex Shot over and over again. When using standard caulk, any leftovers will harden and end up getting trashed. But with Flex Shot, just leave a small bead (approximately 1/8”) sticking out of the top of the nozzle. When you’re ready to reuse the can, pull out the bead of dried product and use Flex Shot again.
